Instarent conditions and necessary information for renting a car in Belgrade

Deposit

For vehicle rental, Instarent reserves the right to request a security deposit - by pre-authorizing a credit or debit card (Visa, Master Card). The amount of the deposit is determined by the type of vehicle, from 36,000 rsd to 100,000 rsd. The price of renting a vehicle is not related to the amount of the deposit and the deposit is not included in the rental price. The deposit can be left via card (pre-authorization), keeping the funds exclusively in dinar equivalent, regardless of whether it is a card from Serbia or abroad.
Instarent rent a car reserves the right to use the deposit in the following cases:

• If the rented vehicle is returned with new physical damage to the exterior or interior,
• If the vehicle is damaged due to improper use or off-road driving,
• If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than when it was picked up,
• If parking fines were issued during the rental period,
• If any traffic fines were issued during the rental period,
• If the rented vehicle is returned heavily soiled due to the client's negligence,
• If the rented vehicle is returned dirty due to driving pets,
• If during the rental period the mandatory documentation, vehicle keys or safety equipment in the vehicle are lost,
• If the vehicle was taken over with the contracted limited mileage, and this mileage is exceeded during the time of using the vehicle,
• If the vehicle is not returned at the previously agreed time, i.e. if the agreed rental period is exceeded or any item of the previously signed rental agreement is violated.

Instarent releases the reserved funds up to 24 hours after the vehicle is returned from the rental. The final unblocking of funds depends solely on the communication between the client's bank and Instarent's bank, as well as on the type of card the client uses. The expected period for which the funds are usually released ranges between 15-60 working days from the moment when Instarent initiated the release of funds through the bank terminal.

Fuel

Fuel consumed during rental is paid exclusively by the client. Fuel is not included in the price of renting a vehicle. The fuel policy is usually "full to full" or less often "same to same". This means that the client is obliged to return the vehicle with as much fuel as it was when the vehicle was picked up upon returning from the rental. If the client returns the vehicle with less fuel, Instarent will charge the amount needed to top up the missing fuel + RSD 1000.00 for the refueling service.
Important (!) - damage to the vehicle caused by the use of inappropriate or incorrect fuel is not subject to any type of insurance, and the client bears 100% responsibility.

Traffic and parking fines

All fines for traffic, parking and other violations caused by using the vehicle during the rental period are 100% the responsibility of the client. The client is obliged to settle the fines in a timely manner and keep the proof of settlement which he must submit to the Instarent agency. If the client does not settle the stated debts, Instarent reserves the right to use the deposit for that purpose with an additional charge of 1000.00 rsd for the debt payment service on behalf of the client.
Important (!) - All municipal fines are significantly (up to 10x) more expensive for official vehicles. Rent a car vehicles are official vehicles. It is necessary to pay special attention when parking a car in the city zone (In Belgrade, a public parking lot marked in yellow represents a reserved place and it is not possible to park there, the fines are high. Parking in a place for the disabled is also prohibited and the fines are up to 1,000 euros. leaving the vehicle on the road is not allowed, parking on the green surface is not allowed.)

Rights and obligations in the event of a traffic accident or vehicle damage (CDW)

If the vehicle is damaged by an unknown person or due to bad weather, the client is responsible for all damage to the car. All Instarent cars are insured with mandatory insurance:

1. Auto liability insurance (for third parties) - In the event that the client is to blame for an accident and damage to a third party's vehicle, Instarent reserves the right to charge €100.00 (11,700 rsd) for activating the third party insurance policy. This is only possible with a completed police report, which the client must have and submit to the Instarent company. If the client does not have the said record, he is obliged to settle the damage caused to the third party's vehicle himself.
2. Comprehensive insurance - All instarent cars come with relative comprehensive insurance with absolute participation of the client in case of damage. The client can decide on the amount of participation he is ready to take, depending on the protection package he opts for. Excess - that is, the client's participation in case of damage depends on the category of the vehicle and ranges from 500.00 to 1500.00 eur. The client can decide to reduce the amount of participation or cancel it completely by paying full "full" insurance.

The only condition is that the vehicle is not damaged due to violation of any of the traffic rules and laws, such as exceeding the speed limit, not respecting the right of way, driving through a red light, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, etc. In those cases, the insurance ceases to be valid and the client bears all responsibility for the resulting damages.
Important (!) - if there is total damage to the vehicle, the client's participation is reduced to a maximum of 10% of the total estimated damage by the official service or the insurance company, unless the damage was caused by a violation of traffic regulations and laws by the client. Then the client bears 100% responsibility for the incurred costs.

Additional driver and driver's age

The age limit for the contract holder - driver is from 23 to 74 years. It is mandatory to have a driver's license for at least 4 years.
When drawing up a rent a car contract, it is possible to add another person as a driver, i.e. tenant. This service is free for all persons between the ages of 29 and 70. For persons younger or older than the specified limit, the service is paid 50.00 eur.
Persons under the age of 19 or all other persons holding a probationary driving license cannot rent Instarent vehicles.

Child seat - special equipment

Baby seats are charged 20.00 EUR per rental unless otherwise specified. (check stock)
Child seats are charged €20.00 per rental unless otherwise specified. (check availability)
Seats for older children (booster) are charged €10.00 per rental unless otherwise indicated. (check availability)

Winter equipment - chains - special equipment

During the winter season, chains are available only upon request from clients. The use of provided winter equipment is charged €15.00. Loss or damage of winter equipment is paid for 100%.

GPS navigation – special equipment

GPS navigation is free. (check availability, quantities are limited)
Loss or damage to the GPS is 100% paid for.

VAT - Tax

A tax of 20% is included in all listed rental prices. Our services are charged in dinar equivalent at the official middle exchange rate of the National Bank of Serbia.

Collection / return of the vehicle - Belgrade center

Instarent vehicles can be picked up/returned in the center of Belgrade (TC Galerija) in the period from 8 am to 10 pm, as well as at other times with prior agreement. The car can be picked up at another location in Belgrade with prior agreement.

Collection / return of the vehicle - Belgrade Airport

Vehicles can be picked up/returned for free at Nikola Tesla Airport between 8am and 10pm. Vehicle delivery at Belgrade Airport is also possible in the period 22:00-08:00 with an additional charge of €25.00.

Crossing the border

Crossing the border is possible with the renter's prior permission. It is allowed to travel to the countries of the region. The countries to which it is not possible to travel are Kosovo, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Moldova, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Scandinavian countries.
Unlimited mileage refers to the use of vehicles in Serbia. To specify the mileage for using a vehicle outside of Serbia, it is necessary to send an inquiry.

Car washing

The client receives a completely clean vehicle for use, and must make every effort to return the vehicle in the same or similar condition.

If the vehicle is returned with damages that require chemical cleaning of the vehicle, then it is charged from €50.00 - €100.00
Smoking is not allowed in our vehicles. Damage caused to the interior of the vehicle (torn or burnt seat, etc.) is charged separately and is not covered by any insurance.

Vehicle reservation conditions

Vehicle reservation is confirmed by phone or email. In the period of high season (June-October, December-January), it is necessary to confirm the written reservation of the vehicle, signed by the client and the lessor.
The reservation can be modified upon request. If the vehicle has already been collected, it is possible to change the return date in good time.

Cancellation of reservation

The client is able to cancel the reservation up to 2 days before the start of the rental period. After that period or in case of no show, Instarent has the right to charge 5,500 rsd for the administrative costs of the vehicle reservation.

Client's obligation

The client undertakes to use the vehicle conscientiously. After several thousand kilometers, the user is obliged to check the condition of the fluids in the vehicle (oil, coolant, windshield cleaning fluid and especially the "ad blue" fuel additive on some vehicles) as well as the tire pressure. The failure of the light bulb is considered a standard failure and the client is obliged to eliminate this type of failure during the rental by replacing the bulb at a service station or gas station. Instarent will compensate such costs at the end of the lease with the previously attached invoice.
If any warning light comes on on the control panel of the vehicle, the client is obliged to report it and only in agreement with the lessor visit one of the nearest service stations.
It is not allowed:

• Off road vehicle use,
• Using a vehicle that does not comply with traffic regulations,
• Towing other vehicles with a rented vehicle,
• Use of the vehicle by other persons not specified in the contract,
• Modification of the vehicle, changing the interior, spare parts, adding foil to the windows or the body, removing or concealing the vehicle registration plates.

Expenses caused by vehicle breakdown

If there is a mechanical failure of the vehicle, Instarent is not responsible for any costs incurred by the client - such as the costs of another arrangement, or any further travel and program. Also, the client does not pay for the rental days of the vehicle from the moment when, due to a mechanical failure of the vehicle, it is not possible to use it. The client must inform Instarent about the failure as soon as possible.

Disputes

The court in Belgrade is competent for all possible disputes.
